Hi all

Had the car out today for a lovely drive round Lake Garda up to Malcesine (if anyone knows it) and then back through centre of Verona.
Still have nt got my handbrake cable fixed so parking it in gear at the moment
Started to hear a strange clicking noise from the rear. Happens with clutch depressed or not. However disappears when brakes are applied????
Anyone got any ideas? I am assuming brake related but what exactly?

Very strange...!

It will be the pads rattling in the calipers, a common occurence. One of the ways to cure it is ro run a smear of silicone sealant where the pistons touch the pads.

I reckon you'll find the little anti-rattle springs have broken (they keep the back pads pressed outwards).

It won't affect the braking but will p|ss you off listening to it.

Oh, and once you fix the handbrake cable you should continue to park the car in gear ..... the handbrake isn't that good.
