Thinking of a Cerbera LW as next car
Discussion
Hi all,
Thinking of my next purchase perhaps in the next few months, just wanted to know a little about them.
What common things to look out for, what things go wrong, cost of service, reliability, cost of ownership overall and of course the positives too
Was thinking on a 4.5 LW in pearl white which i think look amazing, but whats the difference between the 4.2 and 4.5 apart from engine size
What are they like to insure??
Any useful info greatly appreciated.

the V8s are generally pretty reliable if serviced regularly. Important things to check are:
1 service history
2 when did it last get a clutch, life can be quite short, if it's over 20k old budget a change
3 Did it get the slave cylinder changed too, they are crap and the seals swell.
4 check the outriggers on the chassis
5 it may rattle a bit when cold, thats normal as the pistons are forged and grow a lot as they warm up. It should not rattle when warm, thats bad!
6 cracked exhaust manifolds
7 electrical gremlins, not usually expensive to fix but hard to track down
8 bushes, shocks and springs, especially on the V8, get some hammer, a new car set of bushes will cost you £300 and springs/shocks £600-£1000 all plus fitting so check em.
9 My LW weighs the same as a non LW so don't restrict your search to a LW unless you desperately want body coloured windscreen pillars and 2" more windscreen view.
Buy on condition not on age. They are newish badly maintained cars around and older ones that lovingly looked after and live in a heated garage.
