Does anybody know what car the boot catch is off?

My boot won't open or close properly.

I'm not sure what it's off. But it's a pretty simple mechanism, it'll either work or it won't. Is it clicking when you press the button? Check the catch is working properly by using a screwdriver/small round bar to mimic the catch hitting it. If it's working then you'll just have to do a bit of messing around altering the position of the catch.

I've spent hours messing around with the position of the catch. I can get it so it opens but the boot rattles in this position, when I adjust it so the boot lid doesn't rattle it won't open. It won't close without having to use excesive force no matter how much I adjust it. I've tried testing it with a screw driver , it's really hard to lock but releases fine.

I've found out that it's a ford part so i'll go and look around a scrap yard until I find one the same.

If it's Ford, then if you can find the finis code, any main dealer will be able to tell you what it is and how much, etc.

If its the same as on a Griff its this the triangular tongue is removed & you need to weld the extended release arm on iirc TVR barnet (Terry) or Power had them....
