I have a minor water leak from the rear nearside of the engine. I've checked the water rail joints to the cylinder head and they are dry. However if I look at the rearmost cylinder head bolt on the nearside I can see pink antifreeze around the bolt. Is it possible for coolant to come up the bolt, ie; do the bolts pass through the coolant chamber?

I think I need to see an engine in pieces, but not mine at the moment!!

Thanks

yes the head bolts do pass through the coolant chamber, if its only on one bolt I`d remove it, apply a little silicon and replace and torque it down, and check the torque of the others as well if possible.

Thanks for confirming that, I'll drain some coolant out and do as suggested.
