SO OK, lets see who has spent the least for a year of Cerbera magic.

Just got it through it's MOT at a cost of £277.86
(fit cats, new throttle pot, MOT, remove cats)

MOT to MOT = 5264 miles.

So £0.053/mile. Pretty bloody good I'd say.

Can I now spend the rest of that £3k on upgrades?laugh

Mine is about 50 pence a mile on servicing and repairs in the last 12 months.

Maybe the more you spend on upgrading replacement components/materials, the less you will have to spend as the TVR ownership carries through, as the car is slowly becoming more and more reliable as it is maintained...

That's the theory anyway hehe

Juast as a 'normal' bloke like me can survive pretty well on normal food, pizzas beer and fags, a 'normal' car can survive pretty well on a diet of occasional oil changes and replacing a part when it goes wrong. A Cerbera is like an athlete, it needs a good diet and regular maintenance. Once you have a Cerb that is 'sorted', if you keep it regularly serviced and looked after it will keep going - that's all there is to it really.

How about £5250 eek Not as bad as it sounds as it was for a new loom after i tried setting fire to it by installing a dodgy TVR lighter, and the insurance paid for it all. My baby has'nt cost me anything this year, but it seldom does. Mind you i only did 950 miles in it. If my car was costing £3000 a year or anything like that, i am afraid it would be out the door as much as i love it. In 7 years of ownership it has never cost anything like this mythical £3000 a year, but then i do only do low mileages in it. And thats another TVR myth. I only do very low annual miles in it, sometimes not starting it up for weeks at a time, but it has never let me down and every electrical switch and light works as it should. In all the years i have had it, apart from service costs i have only had to have one starter motor and last year a new clutch and slave, and thats it. And it is in superb condition and is inspected by a TVR specialist every year. It has been an absolute joy to own.cloud9
