Ok guys I need a little advice.

After not running the cerb for a couple weeks she wouldnt start so i put the battery on charge overnight.
The battery now says it fully charged but when i reconnect i am getting little response from the car. The fob no longer seems to trigger the alarm (well the lights dont flash) there is clicking from the boot though. The doors and the boot wont respond either.

I searched through the forum and checked my fuses specifically fuses 6 and 7 which are for the doors and the lights. When I replace 6 there is alot of clicking in the boot.

I also phoned Carl Baker who suggested that i try disconnecting and reconnecting both the battery and then the door control box. I have also tried reconnecting the battery with the FOB pressed down.

I will phone Carl again but i'd like to see if anyone on here has had similar problems before i pester him again.

Thanks

Rob

It could be your alarm / immobiliser. Carl will help you diagnose and fix me thinks.

Just a suggestion, but you have checked/confirmed that the battery has actually charged and that it's not duff and the charger just thinks the battery is charged up?

Just dug the multimeter out and the battery is reading 8 volts. I've been messing about for the last few hours so i've put the charger back on and its now reading 75%. I'll top it off and check the meter again.

A very flat battery will make your doors, alarm etc do some strange things !

If a car battery goes down to 8 volts it is usually scrap I am afraid.

How long had the car been standing before you tried to use it again?

Only been a couple days since it was last run. I charged it up full just now and it was only reading 10volts, when i connected to the car it was back down to 8.5v. Looks like a new battery is the order of the day.

Maybe I should have checked this without being prompted but I appreciate those who took the time to reply.

Cheers
