Trying to Sell Speed 6 Cerbera
Discussion
A few months ago I decided to sell my beloved Speed 6 ('02 reg). Since the arrival of my baby daughter (just over a year ago), I haven't had much opportunity to use the car and decided to buy something more practical.
I took the car back to the TVR dealer in Kent, who has had it on S.O.R. since Autumn last year - unbelievably, it still hasn't been sold, even tho it's a prize specimen and has really low mileage (approx 3000).
Due to work and stuff I don't really have time to sell it privately and none of the BMW dealers I've been to have been keen on P/X.
I can't understand why it's not sold (is it just a really bad time for Cerbs to sell) and don't have any more ideas about how to try to sell it.
Any ideas?

Being an S6 in itself arguably makes it an uphill task to sell a Cerbera (since the Tuscan is arround too). This is over and above the 'baseline' difficulty & dealer exploitation one is expected to face with hi-performance cars. This sounds like a new car and if you don't keep it you won't be able to forgive yourself in the future.
The price you've set (I don't know at present) may be too high. The choice increases proportionate to the price and other earthworm-like cars enter the picture like Boxter, BMW any, Merc any, Elise, 4x4 any, deposit on a house and above all TUSCAN, T350 and Tamora. I would still favour the Cerbera.
There is a whole category of people who don't like the S6 and are V8 enthusiasts. After all is said and done, their opinion sets the tone and I think 7 out of 10 buyers would be influenced into buying a V8. This is no justice to a magnificient Cerbera that the Speed Six is.
The colour may be a deterrent. Personally don't like the silver and shall never buy a grey interior but if you have a silver/black S6 it should sell far quicker. Sadly mine is Jag ice blue metallic which is very close to silver!
The photographs on the ads must be plenty, hi-resolution and from the car level including interior (like e-bay).
Yours is a magnificient car which has not yet even done the running-in. If you don't keep it you have already been exploited financially. Good luck with your sale anyway. It's a Cerbera and there is no car like this below £150,000.

Somebodys trying to tell you to keep it. ...Its only done 3000 miles. How can you not use it.
Total Change of lifestyle since I first got it - the opportunity just never arises. Very frustrating.
As a result, cost of ownership has become really really high.
Took me months to decide to take it to TVR - it wasn't easy to part with the coolest car I've ever had / driven.
Price too high? It's on for £33k which is an enormous drop from the price I paid new (just under 2 years ago) - interior is full hide, half grey / half blue (looks stonking), ali dash etc.

Just seen the photos. Your car looks magnificient. I can't believe things are so difficult for S6 - but then it is winter.
A Cerbera 4.5 Red Rose or Light Weight can be had for £31000, some hi-profile TVR dealers are selling <15000-mile 2001 S6 for £29000. A mint Tuscan or T350, the other brands (Jag XK8/XKR, Boxter, Mesarrati, BMW, MB, Lotus etc) easily fit into the price bracket. The dealers are set to earn a profit of £8000 on this car. With <4000 miles you haven't had a chance to open up the Cerbera engines so haven't really owned a Cerbera as yet.
Once the running-in was complete the idea to part from it may change.
It is highly likely that by the time the summer comes, your car would have been sold. For the new owner, what a time to get a <10000 mile S6!
Good luck with your sale.

Munir: You're absolutely right about the running in - I was looking forward to opening it up properly - it will be a big regret. But, I have still enjoyed every single moment of driving it / cleaning it etc. I don't think that any car will make me grin as much as the Cerbie.
