Hi All (hope this comes through OK as using mobile)
Finally purchased a 4.2 last weekend, not the best of examples by any means. However hopefully some time, money and praying will get it back on track. Couple of questions:-

1). What is the correct oil pressure, and temp to be running?
2). Anyone suggest a good re-trimmer in Essex, i need the wheel done.
3). What is the best oil to be using?

Thanks in advance for any advice/help.
Mark

1.1) Should be 70 ish at cold idle. Should be about 40 ish at very hot idle (which you are unlikely to see this time of year).
1.2) Should be about 90 degs on the move and go to 100 or so when in traffic, occaisionally going to about 105 before fans cut in a reduce back to 100 or below.
2) No idea.
3) Loads of different views - I would say go for a thicker oil than standar Mobil 1. They do a 15-50 which is good enough.

Glad to hear you've taken the plunge thumbup have fun.

cant really help with first two questions, think oil pressure should be 50-60Psi when moving and 20-30 when ticking over, I have speed six so different for me so dont quote me on that, but fairly sure thats what i've read before on the AJP.

Good oil - I use MObil 1 0-40, some use 15-50.
also Shell Oils are supposed to be good, but I stick to what I know. However, this is a topic of debate i think among the TVR Crowd

It was on the classifides for a month, then removed. The seller was going to store over winter. Rosso Pearl (Think this colour can not be matched), cream interior. Will get some pics on when back (out of country).

I had my left front wing and passenger door resprayed last week in Rosso Pearl and it is a perfect match.(1999 Chim)
Not many sprayers can do it though, many will not even touch it.
You need somebody that has done it before.

Mine was done in Harefield (West London)

Not sure he meant it that way. Think he meant, you can't find a colour as good/nice/satisfying to the eye as Rosso Pearl....though I stand to be corrected.

I understand why you didn't take it that way, knowing that the best colour for a Cerb is Paradise Purple though winkbiggrin

try talking to redbullrsc he's a member on here, does an excellent job, good price and likes doing TVR's (based in kent).

as for the steering wheel it might be easier to source a second hand one

Thanks for the advice all. I did mean that the colour can not be matched in the terms spraying. However although i was limited in the cars at my price tag and their colours, i love the Rosso Pearl.

Fingers crossed the ownership is not too much of a bumbpy ride. Must say they are awesome cars.

Mine needs a few bits doing that niggle me, but cant stop driving the thing. Will have to catch up for a run that would be good!
