Anyone removed the oil cooler? Done a search on PH but not much info available.

I have a leak from around that area. Advice on the removal procedure and time would be welcome.

Oh, and I forgot to add that I'm not sure how to remove it.

It's one of the jobs I haven't done ..... yet.

yeah as the manual reads it's easy peasy, but the reality... Looks like it does come straight out though without removing the radiator.

You dont need to remove the radiator to get the oil cooler out.

It's a really fiddly ass job to do.

Wheel Off
Access panel in front of wheels arch off with A/C unit attached let this hang down.
Find the 3 bolts holding the cooler in the front and remove
2 spanners up into the hole, one to hold the fitting on the cooler and one to undo the hose (you're likely to twist the fitting off the cooler and damage it otherwise).
Repeat for other hose
Remove cooler through the front intake holes, may be easier to do with the air deflector off.
When refitting apply a little sealant to the threads of the hoses as it's pretty much gauranteed to leak.

See your car at Levens last week. Simon was very pleased with how shiny his floor is now that he has finished polishing it using your oil.hehe

whoops yes, job now done.

Good effort from Simon, chopping, cutting and heaving to get the thing out then it continued to bleed over his workshop for several days, he just couldn't kill it.

New (bigger) cooler now in, all brand new pipes and new connectors made up and a complete oil and front brake pads change.

ooof..
