Has a cerbera ever been on the top gear track? was just looking through all the lap times and noticed the tuscan is quite high up there, anyone had an 'unofficial' lap timed? And not wanting to open a can of worms here, but what's faster?

I'd imagine it depends on who's driving and how the cars were modified/setup.

Wasn't there a challenge on here a few years ago to drive the circuit on a track day.

Yes, that was me! couple of years ago, my time was very poor, have been intending to return for another try but haven't got round to it yet, ok I know you going to ask what the time was, 1 minute 54 seconds, which is very poor for a Cerbera.

My excuses were as follows:
Standing water in bright sunlight, almost impossible to see the markings in some areas like Hammer Head.
Lost a bit of confidence after doing a 360 spin at Gambon on one of my practice laps.

Its a lot harder than it looks, especially in a car like the cerbera with no electronic aids to keep things in check.

Another thing that i wasnt too happy about was the fact that the instructor who comes with you for the laps insists that you dont wear a crash helmet so you can hear his instructions, think this slighly put me off trying as hard as if I was wearing one.

Stig? Get Jes to do a lap, and ask him to challenge physics again! There doesnt seem to be much to hit, give him a few runs and tell him the championship is on the line. thumbup

Yes, it'd be quick - on 1b tyres, I'd expect a time around that of a GT3 RS.

Sounds like we should throw the challenge down then, see if we can get the BBC to let us have a run, and have some of our best drivers in some of our best cars have a run at it! Would be a good chance for a meet as well?

It would be good to see Top Gear do a "Supercars for a £10-15k" special, and just see how it compares with Stig driving it. However knowing Top Gear, it would be a huge source of merriment for them to have the TVR breaking down on every corner! It is after all an entertainment show, not a motoring show.

Not sure what track layout they use? But on the full international was a 1:30.437. It was a bit cold though!

Might have a chance of the tyres lasting more than five laps then hehe

I definitely think this should be a Cerb Day venue.

Are there any eating/Hotel facilities nearby ?

There are a few b&b's. It is rather out of the way though. Good track to drive with some great views. The bend leading onto the back straight (church£) is superb, we were taking it pretty much flat which really gave a great feeling!
