To all those people who are cold in their Cerbera .....
Discussion
Last week when I was replacing the burst water pipe I also finally got around to fitting a new thermostat.
I've had it for ages but never got it fitted.
My car has always been bloody freezing inside in all but the warmest of weather.
The temperature gauge always sat at about 70*C while driving but with the new one fitted it runs at between 80*C and 90*C and is lovely and warm inside.
Her-indoors always complained of the cold and reluctantly agreed to let me take the Cerb today.
She even asked me what I'd done to the car to make it so warm.
So, for those of you freezing your bits off, try a new stat ..... it might just work.
Oh, and I used one of these ...

... but it looks like they are a bit rare right now.
Perhaps sonnylad can let us know if he's managed to locate any more.
If not then we all seriously need to start searching for some as I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs one.

Will try this, I have a new one, and have been putting off fitting it, worth doing in time for my long journey from east cost Scotland to west coast N Ireland!
I always have a cold draft coming in through my footwells as well, I have had a good look and can't see any where it could be coming from, any ideas?

Cold air enters via the dirvers inner wing.I always have a cold draft coming in through my footwells as well, I have had a good look and can't see any where it could be coming from, any ideas?
Clutch master cylinder is inside inner wing, so I suspect that cold air can enter via any holes that connect to inner wing?? Just a thought?
Bung up the intake hole at the front (also stop water coming up) and you'll be warm as toast!
Just open window a bit to clear misting, which is much reduced by stoping all that wet air coming up.
Don't forgrt the heater mod to make it recycle only!

I've also blocked off the 2 cut outs below the indicators, and that seems to help.
By the way I hate the re-circ mod, it just makes the car mist up and feel damp, I want to un-modify it!
Something I forgot to mention is that you MAY OR MAY NOT have to fit the new stat in the same position as the old one.
If I'd fitted the new one by shape I'd have had all sorts of problems as the flow direction is a bit different.
The way IT MUST BE is that the pipe out the top (going to the rad) opens when the temperature rises.
The easiest way to find out which one this pipe is ..... blow through it.
The unrestricted two pipes are at the bottom, the closed one points upwards.
Hopefully this makes sense.

Sounds like a top modification! How did you both block the hole up without it looking gash? (expanding foam or something?)
2 peices of old matt black plastic (from an old toolbox tray) cut to shape approx 5mm bigger than the hole. Then a bead of Sikaflex/Tigerseal around the edge, a bit of Duck tape to hold it there while the glue goes off - Job done, and it still looks like you have a 'hole' there. The cut out beneath the Indicator. The Passenger side supplies Hot air, up through the inner wing to the heater Motor. The later 'Heater Modded' cars have the inner wing blocked up with foam.
Driver Side supplies the cold air, through the inner wing to the cold air motor.
