see mine does it completely at random! you might have been driving for like an hour with them down and all of a sudden it will wind them up. it puts me off adopting my preffered arm out of the window cruising style as im afraid of getting it trapped! haha!
Yeah, pretty random on mine too. Sometimes does it 2 mins after setting off, sometimes 30 mins! Don't think it is to do with the microswitches as mine both work fine (replaced them both over the years), maybe something to do with a fault in the black box in the boot? Who knows?!Best bet would be to whip the door card off, which is 8 5mm alley key bolts and takes about 2 mins, then unplug the various connectors and test with a voltmeter, the resistance when switches are open/closed. Just get a little magnet and hold it against the reed switch at the bottom. Also close the door with you inside and test the reed switch again, to make sure it is the right distance from the magnet in the shut. It should be 0 resistance when magnet isn't touching, and full resistance, which voltmeters register as 1, when the magent is. Window position is easer as you just have to press it. Try this as I think it will be the easiest way to find the problem.

Mine did this a lot last year.
There were two problems that caused it ...
1 - there was a dry-joint in the control box. I re-soldered it and it was fine.
2 - the control box got damp. It was fine once I dried it out with a hair-dryer.
Be careful to mark the locations of the jack plugs when you remove them as they are identical and it is possible to put them back in the wrong location (and potentially blow the bejaysus out of the box).
