Door button (wind mirror)

Stupid question number 106 point A part C.....
My drivers side button seems to have lost the round push part, the main button housing is still attached. I have bought a new one, is there anything i need to know before replacing? Whats the best way to do this. I also bought the clear protectors, are these worth while?

clear protectors are a good buy, only advice i would give is make sure the other door is open when you test it!
