yes it's on the same side as the brake fluid thing, at the top and edge of the inner wing, towards the engine. A black domed cover that is sealed in place with silicone and 2 screws.

If the clutch has gone soft then really you should bleed it. The bleed nipple is on the end of the hose you described. - a braided st/steel hose. If you are on your own It's a lot easier if you nip down to halfords and invest £20 in an eazi-bleed kit. Use Dot 4 in case you don't know.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my newly acquired Cerb has an extremely stiff clutch, confirmed by both Kevin63 and MikeinSheffield. It works okay and getting forward and reverse is not a problem; the previous owner tells me that he thought it was a standard clutch, however not the original, so i'm now concerned that i have an issue looming - it's a 2000 4.5LW
Any advice would be gratefully accepted

Not sure about this but if the clutch was a Raceproved one, werent they a little stiffer than the AP ones.

Mine is a Raceproved diaphragm and Pursyluv has tried it and nearly put his foot through my floor, it's very light and very progressive and in my opinion is far better than the AJP one I had before, it's only the diaphragm though with an AJP clutch under it. Oh it's a Raceproved slave cylinder too with special seals (not sure what type though)

That may be why I have very weedy thighs laugh
