Viewing Cerb- Opinions please
Discussion
Off to view this cerb in the week http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1243605.htm
Just wondered peoples opinions on the car, Sam has been very forthcoming with everything on the car and it sounds like its been looked after. Only thing that slightly worries me is the missing service history and the slight previous damage if I ever sold it, other than that though it sounds great. Having previously had a Tuscan and a Griff 500 im aware of the main things to look for but are there any things specific to 4.2's that I should look at?
Many thanks.

Thats Gary Judds car. There has been that much done to it.That i dont think there is an original part on it it left the factory with.I'd (also) be looking at this one. Same owner for 9 yrs. Unusal colour.
wouldn't worry about the service history, the only thing you would want to see is proof of the engine rebuild and any services or work done after that and a bill for the new clutch, any service history before the rebuild would be pretty pointless! it may show that the odd bush or a few bits have been replaced but nothing worth worrying about!
the seat should be an easy fix around £80-100, same goes for the steering wheel.
i know people can be funny about accident damage but as long as its been done well the i don't see it should be a problem, the bodywork is the expensive part of repairing these cars and is the reason why so many get written off. and with people saying that there are only around 400 cerbs left, then i think people are going to have to start accepting cat c and d cars.
it looks a good car with all the right (expensive) bits done, if you look after it then it would be a good buy.
yes i agree, F1 panel

i like the look of this one, the price is a bit high but the mileage is very low, and the wheels look brill to me

I guess the F1 panel does a number of things:-
i) Tidy up the engine bay
ii) Hide rust
iii) Change under bonnet airflow - thus maybe stopping bonnet lift and keeping bay cleaner.
iv) keeps the car original
I am sure you could get one from a breakers but then you need to paint it (maybe at the same time as a front end respray next tie the car needs one).

you could try here for an F1 panel http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1997-TVR-CERBERA-V8-AJP-ENGI...
it doesn't hurt to ask and you never know it could even be a good colour match
