TVR Cerbera Advertisement HELP!!
Discussion
Hi
Im doing a 30 second advertisement promoting the cerby for my final piece of media coursework, i'm really excited about doing it - I want to show in the advert what the cerbera means to you as an owner/enthusiast. I want it to appeal to you - so bear with me, this is what i've got so far:
Opening shot - Set in a car park, camera is slowly tracking head on 3 parked cars, mercedes, beamer, audi.
Fades to a black screen with text saying: 'they said it would never fit in.'
Next shot - camera continues to slowly track, gets to the cerbera, camera stops and focuses on cerb. Car lights turn on
Cuts to black screen with text saying: 'they were right' Engine ignites - V8 breathes into life
Next 4 scenes: Jump cuts into a quick montage shots of cerbera overtaking, camera tracking it at speed etc. . . imagine top gear sort of shots.
Final scene: at traffic lights, camera is facing cerbera at the other end of the lights - all of a sudden a ice cream van comes past the camera with lights and icecream van tune, turns right, past the cerbera, cerbera then does a 180' burnout spin and goes in pursuit of the ice cream van.
Fades to black: text saying: 'warning, brings out the child in you'
END
I wanted to show what it meant to me as someone who loves the cerb, i wanted to show how it was different and unique compared to any other car by comparing it to the relatively bland and boring cars like beamers, mercedes and audis. I wanted to show its raw beauty and power, as this was its uniques selling point - so i wanted to add in the fast paced driving shots. I also wanted to show how it brings out the 9 year old boy in you, by having the ice cream van and the car chasing it (it was just a light, non-pertentious sort of scene, definately not meant to be cheesy.)
If you've managed to get through all of that, I'd be really gratefull for any advice, suggestions, (constructive) criticisms, on how to make this better, as I really want to do you as an owner/enthusiast and the cerbera justice.
Many Many thanks to all that read this, many more to those that contribute!!

Yeh
Thanks alot for the feedback! That sounds like a good idea, I'll add in that last bit about the driver holding the ice cream by the cerb, that would be the cherry on the cake!
Also, I'll definately have the engine up to temperature before recording the sound of it.
It will be fully completed by 22nd of February, and ill post it on youtube then with a link here on PH.
Many thanks,
p.s. keep the advice, tips, (constructive!) criticism coming!!!

Make sure the engine is well warmed up before recording the sound for the start-up or it will sound like a sack of spanners...
Yeah - Better still have the sound recorded from the exhaust, not the engine
Here's another idea......
Setting: Middle of nowhere - eg Scotland, somewhere where a good fast road runs near to a railway line.
Stressed out 'James Bond lookalike type' commuter on the train, going home after a hard day at work, looking impatiently at his watch.
Back to the wife at home, 50 miles from the station, sexy looking dark haired 'don't mess with me, the Dark haired actress in Pulp fiction (I forget her name now) type
, striding out to the Cerb fires it up and speeds off down the drive, wheelspins on to the road.Lots of shot's of the Cerb hurtling along the fast scottish A road catching up on the train in the distance, spins into the little 'village type station' car park, gets out and leans against the car, key fob in her hand. Stressed out miserable looking Hubby emerges from the station, sees the Cerb, big smile on his face, beckons for her to throw him the key, jumps in, fires it up and speeds off with a huge smile on his face, gorgeous wife left alone in the middle of nowhere - "Cerbera - makes you forget everything".
Oh well......... Maybe thats why I'm not a rich Advertising exec
