Morning guys and gals,

Just a quick one to ask of you all. The door realise has stopped working - when you press the button you can hear the solenoid activating but door will not pop open. I have already bought a new one from Maplins and had a quick look but am wondering how the piece of trim on the `B` pillar (where the seat belt passes through) comes off. My trim will move a bit but i didn't want to go past the point of no return and end up breaking it without getting some advice from here first.

If you can hear the solenoid clicking, it may be something else that is faulty. Can you open the door manually?
I have never removed the trim completely, but to get access to the mechanism in the B pillar, remove the rubber door trim, and carefully pull it back, and wedge it open far enough to give access. Don't bend it to far though, it's fibreglass, so it could snap.

Cheers for the info guys.

JensenA, yes i can open the door manually without any problems at all. (this is how i'm currently getting in & out of the car) Do you think that the problem could be something else then ?

I had this early into my ownership, if you take off the panel that hides the seatbelt you will find a nut that you can adjust(by hand) just adjust that till the door openssmile

Here is the spot on advice I received from SlvrCrb when this was happening to me.

Remove the trim behind the seat, where the seat belt enters. Towards the back of the recess and down a bit there's a piece of studding (3-4mm) coming through the door opening solenoid unit. Usually the nut has moved up slightly on the studding and this in turn stops the door opening, but you get the clicking. Screw the nut a bit further down the studding until you find the point where the door opens again.
