Hi All
Any comments on the best to buy would be really appreciated. A huge change in a part time sailing career circumstance, has lead me to now need my garage fully. I do not want to sell the car due to lack of space so trying to get some ideas, and storing outside could be one.
Thanks
Mark

Mine has lived outside for the last 3 years without any issue whatsoever.
I really wouldn't bother with a cover - all it will do in give you a condensation problem and scratch your paintwork to hell if you put it back on without washing the car first.

Invest a little time ensuring that your car is leak free and let it live outside. Obviously driving it regularly is a good idea! biggrin

I have mine under a cover. But put a soft indoor cover on aswell as a good outdoor cover to minimise any damage to the paint from the wind blowing the cover around. Also, remove the covers as often as you can to stop moisture building up inside.

I did use a cover but the movement following a windy spell rubbed a small amount of the top surface off.

I bought a super king soft sheet as an under cover to prevent chaffing and that didn't work either so I don't bother now.

I did have a cover craft for my cerb, until someone nicked it just before it snowed a couple of weeks ago. Great cover - although £400 a pop I'm gonna be spending my money else where.

People take anything these days!

Unless you wash the car every time before you put the cover on there will be dust and grit on the surface. If you put the cover over this it traps it against the paint. When the cover moves in the wind (which it will to some extent), or when you are putting it on and off, the grit will be rubbed against your paint scratching it. In a bad case it can go right through the laquer.

You are far better to wash and wax the car every 3 months and just let it sit uncovered outside.

Mine would get pretty dirty and collect quite a few bird craps in between drives if I did not cover it!!

Brilliant! lick

I want one!

I have used a cover for 2 years on mine. No problems with scratching the paint work, although I do wax/ polish her every 3 months so maybe this helps.

But.... the canopy above looks great!

True - but better than having a respray every few months where wind on the cover has ground a piece of grit into the paint. Flip paint isn't cheap you know :-)
