Door and heated front screen
Discussion
Morning Folks,
I noticed the other day that the ns door could do with a little adjustment as the rear is standing a little proud of the car. Is this a simple as moving the lock ever so slightly??? Or is there another way?
Also my heated front screen does not work, fuses are ok, where to look next?
Cheers

Are you sure your screen is still heated and not been replaced ?I noticed the other day that the ns door could do with a little adjustment as the rear is standing a little proud of the car. Is this a simple as moving the lock ever so slightly??? Or is there another way?

I can't remember if the door has any adjustment in the catch
Iirc the soleniod etc, with sits in the B-pillar has countersunk bolts to locate it. The hinge has a bit of adjustment or if its the bottom of the door that sticks out, could be the reed switch that is adjusted out too far.

The Ajustment is on the Door Catch, not the Pillar. Mark the position of the catch with a pencil, draw round the catch so if you cock it up you know where you started from! To bring the door in closer to the car, Undo the screws on the Door catch making sure you hold the catch steady. Don't loosen them right off, then tap it towards the outside edge of the door. Tighten up, and try it. Keep repeating until you're happy with it.

Does anybody have any words of wisdom about when pressing the door button you hear the clicking of the door trying to open, but it only does about 1 time in 10? I gets better after a long run strangely...
Try the above. The door catch may just be on the 'cusp' of not being tight enough in to allow the catch to 'pop' open. It's the drivers door. I will try all the above and report back.
But, before I embark on this it looks like the part of the lock attached to the car is not easily accessible to take it off and lube it up. Is this the case or is there a convenient access hole somewhere? Or is it just a case of a squirt of 3 in one and open and close the door a few times?
Thanks!
