I've read on a couple of threds, people suggesting the above.

Then in the owners handbook, I read the following

"INTERNAL SENSOR DISABLE, to disable the interior ultrasonic sensors, press & hold the button on the radio key for approximately 4 seconds. This is indicated by a series of fast flashes of the hazard lights. the sensors will be automaticlly introduced when the system is next operated"

Can I then presume that as opposed to resetting the alarm, you are in fact, isolating the internal sensors ???

I read the same after someone suggesting this to someone else....ive never had to carryout the reset procedure personally so not sure if this actually works...but with TVR's anything is possible!...no harm in trying!
