Hello

im having a few little issues with my steering wheel controls, for example the wiper button doesnt always work as does the hazards button (everything else works fine, including the indicators !)

anyhow, just to make sure ive got this right...

1) Steering wheel buttons go into a tiny little PCB on top of the steering wheel hub (under rubber bit) with little connectors in it (harzards button as well? )

2) from this little PCB hub it goes to the steering wheel control box via a small ribbon cable?

3) from the steering wheel control box it goes erm, somewhere with a huge long ribbon cable??

can anyone enlighten me before so i know what im looking for before i start!

thanks as always!

It's probably a break in the ribbon cable at the hub.

I did however have a problem once with a loose connection under the button itself and once I'd fixed that it was fine.

Worth checking (not a lot of space there to see much though).

The Hazard's are totally seperate, they have a 2 core wire that goes into a little PCB under the steering column.
If any button(s) on the steering wheel don't work, the chances are it's the Big ribbon cable in the steering wheels boss, so check that first.
Have a look under the steering column and trace where it comes out from under the wheel, and connects to a multi-pin connector on a PCB. Near to where the Hazard wires connect, you may have just knocked it off.
If it looks OK, your going to have to check the Big ribbon cable in the St Wheel boss. Pry off the TVR badge. Undo the big nut in the centre, and then carefully pull off the St/wheel and watch in horror as 6 ft of ribbon cable unravels itself all over your lap (if your not careful). The Ribbon cable is connected to a multi-pin connector at the top, and then goes through a slot in the bottom where it is glued in, and travels up to another multi pin conector on a PCB. Make a careful note of which way the ribbon is wound, then unwind it and check it to see if there are any kinks, or bare wires showing.
