I left my Cerb ticking over on the drive and the 1st fan came on then went of."That's nice" I thought, at least the fan comes on when needed. 1st fan came on again then went of(please bear with me I'm just setting the scene).1st fan came on followed shortly by the 2nd fan."That's even nicer" I thought, both fans seem to work ok.Both fans went of.1st fan them came on but only for about 5 - 10 secs and went of. Now neither of the fans came on and the temp went up to about 108 degrees. So basically it looks as though neither of the fans are now working.I have checked both the 30 amp fan fuses and these are ok. any ideas what to check next?
Did you check the temp at any point before the 108 reading at the end? Mine (and many other peoples') guages read a good few degrees out, so it might just be the day had cooled down/Sun had gone in/breeze had picked up/etc. causing the temperature to drop a bit. Long shot, but you never know...
I was busy shuffling things around in the garage at the time so I didn't actually see any of the readings on the gauge while the fans were coming on and going of. But with the gauge reading 108 degrees when I switched the engine of a bit of coolant was blown out of the header tank, which it has never done before. This tends to make me think that the temp was probably a little too high.
Mine were checked and the ECU does indeed turn them on at 92 for the first and 95 for the second but my gauge is a little out and reads about 12 degrees over.
I had a few worrying moments before I found this out.

It may go some way to explaining a few things.
I haven't had a chance to look for mine yet but will do on the next warmish day.

Hi Richard
I had a similar problem (as in the fans did'nt seem to know if they were to come on or not) what i did was to check the plugs to the fans and found out that someone had put vasalein in the plug and then pluged them together which ment not a very good conection.Hope to see you at the South-yorks meet next Sunday.
