As my rack is leaking and slick 50 hasn't cured it I was wondering if anyone had any experience of this?

do you know where its leaking from? they are designed to rejuvinate the seals to stop leaks, so if your rack is leaking from one of the pipes or fittings its not going to help. these fluids can help and for the cost of it then what have you got to loose!

best thing to do is remove the f1 panel (front panel between engine and radiator) clean the area and then you can have a good look at whats going on and see where the leak is coming from.

I tried it.

I had two leaks, one where the steering column goes into the rack and one into one of the track-rod gaiters.

It stopped the top one but failed to stop the bottom one.

I did everything as per the instructions.

So I suppose that says you have a 50-50 chance of it working.

Oh, and go along to your local auto-factors and see if they sell it.

Mine did and it was significantly cheaper in their shop than on e-bay.

That stuff is rubbish. You need new seals. The only way. Dan Taylor of Taylor TVR did mine.

If your seals are borderline this stuff is highly effective. Sometimes giving years more life before they need changing. They will eventually need replacing of course and if they are bad this is less effective but for once this is something in a bottle that isn't snake oil.

i think i would at rather spend £14.99 before £150 on refurbing the rack, at worst if you had to take the rack out you could collect the fluid and reuse it!

Basically what it does is swells the seals thus stopping the leak.

It is good for some leaks but is NOT a product that works in every situation.

Slightly off topic but does anyone have an exploded view of the steering rack?

I'd like to know what's inside it before I start ripping mine apart.

Trust me the stuff is rubbish as I have used it more than once.

It works extremely well in some circumstances - I have used it more than once too.
