Toyos but you'll want the same make front and back. Search for previous threads.

I sort of asked the same question here....

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=79674&f=6&h=0

The 16" Toyos I've seen are only 'W' rated, which might not be correct for a Cerbera (which in theory can go faster than 168).

There are not too many tyres in a ZR 'Y' rating for the 16" wheels. Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli, Falken all make them.

Anyone know any different?

Just had a quote from black circles.....

Nexen N2000 245/45 R16 W 1 £75.87
Kumho ECSTA 712 245/45 R16 Z 1 £75.93
Falken GRB FK 451 245/45 R16 Z 1 £106.49
Toyo PROXES T1S (WR) 245/45 R16 Z 1 £114.96
Goodyear EAGLE F1 GSD2 245/45 R16 Z 1 £126.15
Dunlop SP9000 245/45 R16 Z 1 £131.59
Bridgestone S03 245/45 R16 Z 1 £138.20

which ones should i go for?, these are back wheels. I know the argument that the cheapies like the Nexen wont last but do the Bridgestones last twice as long? if not i cant see the logic. Please help, only had the car 2 months and havent fully experienced its performance and want to be sure.

Thanks

IMO the tyres are the only thing keeping you on the road. I would go for the best I could buy. Not necessary the most expensive.
I'll be looking in to it for the first time later this year so can't help now. Sorry.

I wouldn't necessarily say that you should always go for the same tyres on the front as on the back... it's a very safe bet, but there are gains to be had from not doing (if you're REALLY pedantic about handling!)

I think the general consensus is that the Bridgestones give a bit better performance than the Toyos but cost a load more, and wear out much quicker. Personally, I'd go for the Toyos. I'd definitely agree that as it's the only part of the car touching the road, it's not something to skimp on at all.

so....are there ZR 'Y' rated Toyos in 16" sizes? No one seems to know.....

Or are people fitting 'W' rated Toyos to 16" wheels?

Does it really matter?
