fking great stone chip in windscreen today about the size of 10p piece.

Right at the bottom so unlikely to be repairable as they can't get their little machine in.

So what's the availablilty like? As it's going to crack soon, because Kev from Autoglass says so.

It's an early car.

I had a stone bust my windscreen a year and a half ago so I went to one of the windscreen companies for my '97 Cerb. It was part of the insurance coverage so I paid the first £70 but the bill was about £275 for the screen and £200 for labour (4hrs or so). I don't think they had a clue how to deal with a TVR because the result was poor to say the least. With instruction I think I could have done better and I've never changed a screen before. Should have complained but I'm just too British.

It's like the chips repair guys, some are monkeys some are bloody good.

Sorry to put worries in your head but I hope you get a better result than I did.

No probs with availability at the time although you do have to specify which Cerb screen which is decided by the width of the black surround at the edge of the screen.

Bit of a run for you but I used Bucks Winscreens in the past, one man band outfit with a passion for classic's based in High Wycombe so you now have an excuse to go for a drive. He can be contacted on 01494 713291.

He comes highly recommended by most of the restorers in the area and is also the cheapest place I have found, can normally get the glass in a couple of days.

Seconded. Worth a shout, he went out of his way to source one for my car a couple of years back, and he had an ex factory fitter
