A couple of people have tried straight through pipes, and they didn't stay on there very long from memory. Just too rough to live with.

Yes it's too loud, have sports pipes on mine and you can't hear others speaking to you above 4000rpm hehe

If it helps, I have the ACT 6 silencer system and it sounds very nice from the outside de-catted.

Not too loud inside, but still too loud for track days.

With the catts in it's almost sensible!

I have straight though pipes and it is loud. I use trackday silencers for everyday use and only take them out when I want to be a total hooligan. Unless you are giving it grief, it does sound crap - and loud!

By law you have to have silenced pipes, so as a sop to this, my back boxes are still fitted, but sleeved.

I would go for replacement boxes mate. Unless you need a quick fix, but it really will be too loud for road and not allowed on most track. rolleyes Fingers crossed for you to get it finished before then. Will be quite an achievement!
