My 4.2 has just miraculously passed its MOT and, having seen some other threads on here about fragility of cats, i'm thinking of whipping them out and keeping them on the shelf till next year!

The question is, can this be done without increasing noise levels (I'm at about 102dB and need 101 for a Bedford track day next month)? I wonder if there are silencers that can be fitted in place of the cats?

ACT do some bullet silencers that can be fitted in place of the cats.

Cats on my 4.2 made 8-10db difference to straight through pipes.
ACT do the cans for the tailpipes that knock off that 8-10db again.
