Any advise would be great I am trying to connect my 4.5 to my laptop for the diagnostics, I am getting stuck with the diagnostic screen saying "please wait". Well I waited a damm long time xD and nothing seems to happen what could I be doing wrong? I have the port configured to com 1 it seems to be working because if I pull the lead it says "failed to open serial port" any ideas would be great thanks in advance smile

Immobilser definitely off? So if you press the button will it start?

If Yes - and you have XP with a 'real' comm port -try this - I always have to do it on mine.

Go into Device Manager. Go to Comm1, uninstall the driver, and let XP find it again.

You don't need XP, but it seems easier, I just bought a crappy old £50 laptop off eBay purely to use for the Cerb diags, it's all you need and it doesnt matter if you drop it or it gets dirty smile

Serial port handling is a bit dodgy in windows 7 in my experience. You may well get more mileage out of an xp box - preferably with a physical com port.
