I have to admit I've not been that engaged with PH over the past few months - for the simple reason that I have aquired two other cars which I am becoming quite involved with - as well as their assocaited forums.

I've been tinkering away for a while now preparing a Fiat Coupe 20 VT track car - it's road legal but totally stripped e.g. only the drivers seat and skeleton dash remains! I'm hooked on the little thing - so much fun for so little cash.

On top of that I've just bought a Mitsubishi Legnum VR4. It's supposed to be a complete package i.e. estate car load capacity, 4wd etc but with its V6 twin turbo engine it's a bit of a beast and I've been trawling the VR4 owners club website for info on my new toy - it's quite exciting.

Meanwhile my Cerb has been parked up in a very warm and dry garage not doing much - although I have polished it twice now so it's still in my mind.

I know there has been a thread on here like this before - but I'm curious as to what 'other' cars you guys n gals have a soft spot for apart from the Cerbera.

Both myself and Cyclone are past owners of the 20v Turbo Fiate Coupe, and went onto Cerbs.
The Coupe was, 2nd to the Cerb, the best car I have owned. I loved every minute of it, and kept it standard. That jet fighter rasp it makes when on full chat is addictive. Beautifull bodywork and interior too.

I will own another one one day.

FCCUK is a great forum too.

I've got an old Saab 9000 Aero. It's a 1995 car, not a spot of rust on it, and previously owned by the owner of a West Midland Saab Specialists, so it's a good'un. It's got a Maptun Stage 3 ECU (300hp), Forge Dump valve, Bilstien sport suspension, Uprated roll bars poly bushes etc. It's quick, and seriously good in the handling department too. I've had it for 6 months now and really like it, it's quite good fun blowing away other cars in a 15 year old Saab biggrin
Another car I had a soft spot for was for the old Honda Legend 3.2 Coupe, a bit of a barge, but comfortable, surprisingly quick, very underated, good looking and incrdibly rare.

PS I quite like those Legnum's.

When I'm not on here I usually spend my on-line "car time" on www.octane.ie

The other cars I have at the moment are

- Octavia VRS (daily driver)

- old MINI

- a '72 Beetle (in a load of bits but slowly getting closer to being back on the road again)

oh, and 5 vans.

The other cars I have a sort of longing for are

- another Elise (the only car I've ever regretted selling)

- a new-shape JCW Mini

- a Gallardo (the extent of the bloody recession in Ireland has meant it'll take a wee while longer than it should have to get one in my garage).

Wow - snap - exactly the same spec, bar the ARBs and the Midlands connection. Sold mine in the early part of last year after 3 years.

Replaced it with this, which I absolutely love as a perfect foil to the style of the TVR:

Last of the X308 XJRs, before they got Fordified, and only 60k chauffeur-driven miles OTC!

Strictly speaking this is my brother's, but it's my runabout when I'm down in London:

(part carbon-bodied, SBD red-top engined Westfield)

I don't have a piccy handy, but I picked up a little Clio 182FF last year as well for some rabid FWD action too...

I always venture into Tyneteesscoobies, the last car was an Impreza and there is a wealth of knowledge there, always have a look around to keep myself up to date with Scoobies and look for a cheap one to buy as an everyday car.

Always wanted an ///M car from a school kid and ended up with this :

Lots of TLC, time and money spent on `M` over the years. Not only would i be silly to get rid of it now but, i just couldn't part with it. It's just perfect. I'm a member on the e36coupe website but visit it very infrequently.

And my other chariot is this :

Has been in the family for around 26+ years. Could never part with Her Majesty no matter how much money was on the table - far to many good memories with this one. No forums around for it as far as i know but, already know enough about the car to know where to turn to if i need help or parts etc.

Series 3 Landrover biggrin It's a totally different drive, way more mechanical. Plus a 1964 Triumph Herald, again more mechanical, slow but very manly feeling. You actually have to move levers to drive it, and it still runs on a dynamo.

Hi Windsor,

As Cad has said I owned a Coupe 20VT a few years ago (around 2001/2003). I absolutely loved the car and would have another. I've stayed in touch with the Coupe forum ever since although don't post on there much these days.

I recently tried desperately to buy a couple of 20VT's over on FCCUK, but to no avail. In the end I was recommended an Alfa V6 GTV and ended up buying it. Whilst I admit I am growing to like it and have started the irresistable process of enhancing it's performance I still hanker after a 20VT. The plus side of the GTV is that it is in top condition and has low miles for its age (X plate with 54k), I've had it serviced, had a bespoke exhaust made for it (couldn't resist)and plonked it on a dyno to find that it is quite a healthy example (believe it or not Jools might be helping me with a few more tweaks so we'll see!). I'll not be going OTT as I'll either keep it long term as a garage warmer or I'll sell it and look for a 20VT.

The 20VT I had my eye on was all but booked in for a full GT28RS upgrade with FC Performance (Flea / Leighton on FCCUK):

GT8RS 0.64 + ancillaries
FMIC
Decat (or 100cpi race cat)
SIP + cone/STD filter
Fuel pump battery feed
Uprated EBV or boost controller
3.8bar fuel pressure regulator
Remap

Thereafter would have gone down the brakes / suspension route, unfortunately I missed out oN the car I was after. I then tried for another car with most of these mods already done (in fact higher spec), but couldn't pursuade the owner to part with it.

Have fun with the Coupe and if you are on FCCUK then I'll prob see you on there sometime.

Jules.

Another Fiat Coupe fan here. I had two of them, putting a combined total of about 80k on them in five years with no problems at all. Good looks, noise and rare - sound familiar?

I think there are a few of us on the Coupe forum who have gone to a Cerb from a 20VT - and more are thinking of doing the same if the PMs I've been getting lately are anything to go by. I sent Cyclone a PM about three years ago and that started me on the road to a Cerb. Still nose around the Coop forum having met plenty of the owners - it's one of the better ones.

Cyclone - you seen the Scotts Green 20VT in Sunderland on Classifieds at the mo? Hugely tempted by it particularly as I'm close to selling the Sei for more than the asking price, but really can't justify having a Coop as a cheap runabout. I'd get far too attached to it!

Love my 300zx although it currently needs work, have a Spitfire 1500 tucked away in a garage, but have just taken my CBT and am heading off on 2 wheels for the summer!

Just bought a Chinese 'Hog' for peanuts, fun to learn to ride on. :-)
