Just looking under the bonnet and found the capilliary tube for the temperature gauge. It's strapped to a pipe running under the airbox with a little valve on it. There's an identical one on the other side.

What are the pipes for and what do the valves do?

Thanks
Andy

Guessing, fuel rail with a take off for a pressure tester? Definitely not something to be played with!

The Pipes are part of the cooling system, and the valves are bleed points.

If thats the case then can I open the valves and check I have no air as I am getting some temperature fluctuations that appear to be air in the cooling system. I've already opened the one on the top corner of the rad but no air there. Looking for other solutions just now.

Still trying to figure out why my gauge reads ok at 80 but 12 degrees high when the fans cut in.
