APM Racing Cerb Breaks Cover with 4.7 litre engine
Discussion
Work is busy, thank goodness, but under pressure from Andy I am out simply circulating at Brands at the MSV Track day on 18th of March.
The car is finished with different set-up on the front to complement the wishbones and a slightly bigger splitter, exhausts now exit the sides at the back to allow the diffuser to work more efficiently, obviously the 4.7 litre road engine (i.e. running road cams, crank and rods)and all that is now needed is a touch up where last season's scars on "Christine" need tidying. All keeps us just within Class B.
The lorry passed its plating first time thanks to my new mate Mike who races a RallyCross 3000 Micra!!
So we're out finally to run the engine in before it is Rolling Roaded up at TVR Power.
Anyone who wants to lend a hand is welcome! Particulalrly the PetrolHead Nirvana team who drowned me in coffee last time and bought me the burger just as my wife arrived!!!
First race is Silverstone GP Circuit 17 & 18 th April with FIA Formula 2!! I believe there may be three or four TVRs registered, Mike, Kevan and Danny??
All the best
Jonny

Excellent stuff! Look forward to hearing what the rolling road comes up with.... Are you taking the car to Chatsworth? Would be great to see it!! I am sure the grounds arent public highway... ??? ;-)
He! He! It is actually sorned and with a glass screen is road legal (got poly at the moment) as we haven't taken any bodywork out in terms of being able to MOT it etc.. as we want to keep it as road legal as possible to make it easier to register it for Historic GT etc.., which will allow us to race in the Anglo American Challenge next year!! It's profile, above the center of the wheels and silouette and width is the same (apart from the wing), as is the block etc.. so it will qualify as historic rather than modified!! Nice!
Sounds good Jonny! I'll try and get down to watch this race if I can. What are you expecting out of your 4.7? I'm just about to start build of my one for the Tuscan except in race trim so I'd love to hear how yours does! Also, are you running on MBE or something else?

We are currently running the MBE and are hoping that it will cope with the mixture, our main fear is running lean, frankly at the moment the exhaust makes your eyes water, even though it now has to have cats back on it for this season, so it's running rich just have to check the top end on the rolling road, hence the gentle run in at the Brands track day. We're running high flow clean up cats, which also help dampen the noise. So yes it looks like we are although it has already been modified by Andy!Edited by 450Nick on Thursday 4th March 12:03
Look forward to seeing you all!
Cheers

Sounds fantastic. I may pop along to have nose around. Are you running am,pm or all day?
We'll be there all day, I'll sign on first thing and pootle about the track before we do some short more meaningful bursts pm!
Don't feel that you are intruding, come in and say hello when you arrive!
I was working in Hampshire today and dropped in on Andy. It sounds awesome and there have been lots and lots of little changes plus the splitter and extended carbon fibre diffuser that will all add together and make a big difference!
See you there!
