Any ideas on cost of replacing this item?

Even though it's just passed it's MOT I've got a failed one.

Just curious as to whether I attempt myself.

A certain garage didn't repair this even though it passed it's MOT after I had pointed out that it needed replacing.

Inner cv gaiters aren't MOT-able .. that's probably why! only outter gaiters come under the MOT, and then only maybe on steered axles .. (can't remember that bit tho)

I'd guess the boots would come in at about £10ish. Even more of a guess... the labour from a dealer could well be a couple of hundred.

at the time of this cars mot test it was owned by another person the certain garage(ie apm auto motive)was not authorised by the owner to replace the split gaiter unless it failed the test it passed hence the gaiter was not replaced

Yes - I decided that having spent a grand getting all the discs replaced that I would not get the gaiter done. It had passed the mot and so seemed OTT to me.
