When I indicate right........

......I get a weird buzzing sound coming from the flasher unit in the boot. Indicating left, no problems.

I'm guessing that the flasher unit is OK as it works for the left and half the hazards. Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this? could it be a relay on the indicator stalk?????

Hoping that this does not involve going upside down in the footwell again. Neighbours now think I'm positively strange.....

For those of you who ever find yourselves with similar problems, some advice from a weary owner):


1.Do not take apart the steering wheel.
2.Do not take off the pod holding the fuel guage/clock
3.Do not take apart the indicator assembly and then break it.
4.Dont loose the springs from the above.
5.Do not remove the steering wheel control module.
6.Dont spend the best part of a week upside down in the drivers footwell performing the above tasks.


However, it appears that the increase of blood to my brain during those lonely hours in the footwell may have helped me along somewhat........


1.Do open the boot
2.Do find the module clearly marked "INDICATOR CONTROL MODULE"
3.Do discover that your whole problem was caused by a sticky relay in around 30 seconds flat.

Im so pleased but I do feel a bit silly for not looking there in the first place!

Hope this is of some help so someone and if nothing else, I have learned that if you cant solve a problem, think about it in your cerbera whilst upside down.

Always the way!!!

Easiest fix is always found after you've lost the skin on your knuckles cursed a few expletives and spent hours in positions a contortionist would feel uncomfortable!!!

Sounds like all my worrying about the headlights not working - fretting over fuses, control boxes, etc. etc. Just to find I've snagged the cable to the switch under the dash and pulled it from the connector. 10 second fix!

Here's a question, though... does anybody else have trouble with all that piece of leather under the steering column that's velcroed on to either side? It was the feeble velcro on the near-side of that that caused the cable to get caught. I keep meaning to buy some new velcro and re-attach it as it's supposed to be, but I'd quite like something a bit more permanent.

Took the opportunity to re stick the velcro to that panel today. As long as the velcro is stuck to the panel properly, its pretty strong.

There is loads of stuff under there that is easily disturbed though, I kept coming out with more faults than I started with at first..

Yeah, I re-stuck the velcro once - superglued one part of it back to the car, but that only lasted a month or so. I'm looking for something more permanent now - really want the car to be totally sorted.
