Im looking at doing a few 1/4 mile runs in the car this year and just wanted a bit of advise. Its a 4-5 cerb with a hydratrak diff. What am I likely to knacker up and what tyre pressures should I be thinking about.
Thanks in advance for the replies.Aubrey

If its well maintained you are unlikeley to knacker anything apart from the clutch. Try dropping your rear tyre pressures to 14 or thereabouts. Have fun!

I run Toyo 888's, i let the pressures down from my usual 24psi to 15, the car handled horrible in a straight line, felt dangerous. So stuck to the usual pressures. Just my experience.

Im presuming its only the rear tyre pressures I lower. What sort of times should I expect from a standard 4.5 cerb about 13secs?

You should be in the 12's if the tracks got half decent traction and your motors healthy.
Maybe into the 11's if it all comes together.
I used to run R888's as low as 13psi but i would recommend you start about 18psi and take a little out at a time. Keep the pressures up in the fronts as it helps reduce drag a little.

See my post here for some times and specs etc for comparison http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Oh and dont give it full beans off the line, wheelspin is bad.
