Just double checking are the coil packs for a 4.2 1998 Cerb from a 1996 Citreon ZX 1.6i 2 required i know Part no CU1018

Sounds right, have you checked the Equivalent Parts thread?
Apparently a few people say don't bother with the cheap pattern ones, go for Bosch, twice the price but they last, High52Kojak reckons the Bosch part no is something like DE 661 431 80.

You could give this a try from your local automotive INTERMOTOR 12613

As you can see this one had split all the way around.
And like this on the side.



Replaced both with the INTERMOTOR 12613.

That's how one of mine looked when I removed it the other day, replaced it with a Citroen jobbie from Eurocarparts

Thanks for the replies, didnt know there were any others avaiable apart from the Citroen ones think ill try the Bosch type this time. Hope to see yous at Chatsworth next month ill be in a silver Cerb reg no L14HTN
