New Cerb new problem

Hi all,collected my new Cerb 4.5 y446 uow, drove home 135 miles faultlessly(I'm in love)Now the but! it has an intermittant starter fault,pretty sure the battery is good, previous owner said starter is just dirty,but as tvr power have just completed £2400 service, I suspect the starter is u/s( just clicks over and over but eventually caught) any thoughts?

£2400 - what did they do, must have been much more than a service.
The starter is probably needing a refurb? Have a search as people like RIDDS have suggested cheaper ways to repair the existing starter. Otherwise it will need replacing.

Mine does the clicking thing too, got a little worse at the weekend, just clicked about 5 times. Had to turn ignition off all together, then turn it back on, then it fired up first time

Not too bothered about it, got used to it, just look at it like an anti-theft device

Will deal with it when it stops all together.

Sounds like your solenoid is knackered. McNasty on here can get hold of new ones.

Just as a quick check, could I suggest?

Put on the jump leads (decent ones!) and give it a try with the jumper revving.

My battery was down, cranked OK but felt like starter was sticking until I had to jump it off the daily driver.

Then the starter cranked like hamster on coke and spun out of mesh instantly.

They really do need a tip-top battery these buggers!

Even with a battery starter pack,nothing happened,but once it cooled down it started and has been fine since,having Austec look at it tomorrow so fingers crossed.

I also had no luck with my starter pack!
Halfords 200, no way near big enough for it.

Thanks for all the help guys,Austec just found poor connections,on both starter and hid dipped beam,also adjusted pedals (short arse legs )delivered me to & from station, all for NO CHARGE!!!! good PR or what!
