AJP the poor relation to the S6 !?

Not sure if you guys have been following Doms thread on General TVR gassing but it is looking like he might have a 4.5 S6 that will be nudging toward 500bhp at the fly! The 4.3 is nearly 450bhp at the fly!
I would love to see one of these S6s at the Raceproveds RR shoot out and see it compared on these rollers with a good AJP. But if these numbers arent on the generous side then we look like we are getting spanked.
Time to invest in a S6 before the prices rise.

Four valves per cylinder - it should make more for the same displacement?

Sooner or later I'll be selling my Cobra, as I just don't use it anymore.

When that time comes I might look into S6's and a suitable car to partner the Cerb. Possibly a T350 or a Saggy. The T350 is the better looking car, and the Saggy seems to be better handling but bug ugly.

The advantage of the Cerb is that its an old car. The emissions for the Cerb are quite generous. The emissions for the S6 would be a lot stricter. Its nice when my Cerb flies though an MOT. I just wonder how actually close to the emission limit Dom is with his uprated engines.

Is there not a stroker kit for the Ajp engine around ?
What sort of stroke and bore are the Ajp good for?? Brain sucking time,
Farndon engineering will make a stroker kit, they have made two for me when I had my Datsuns was'nt that much money really errrr ish
Just seen that they have a speed 6 92mm 4.0 instock

I understand from talking to AJP experts that the 5ltr AJP isnt really that effective a mod but that the 4.7ltr is the best step if you want more cc/power.

I said about 2 years ago that the S6 engine was the future - Oh how I had the piss taken out of me . Anyway does it matter if the S6 has more power? Time and Technology move on, and my 400 odd horses in my 15 year old - unique to the Cerbera - AJPV8 are plenty enough for me.

The AJP is great engine. Producing so much power for a 4.5/4.2 litre with 16 valves is a tall order, but to do it reliably (mine is just under 70k and still going strong) is amazing. The speed 6, although another great engine, has had 1000's of hours spent on it, ironing out its flaws and trying to make it reliable. The power/displacement hikes are the next logical step

If the AJP had the same level of development going into it I reckon we would be seeing far more power
