Quick tyre question

Am i correct in saying that people normally put 225/35/18(front) and 255/35/18(rear) on spider alloys?
Do the standard wheel nuts fit or does it have to be special ones?
What do i need to moddify to stop the front wheels hitting on full lock?

Yes re the tyres. From memory you need different wheel nuts to those used for RL7s. You need the Jeep sourced ones.
The stop locks stop the front spiders from rubbing on the wishbones I think (a crude solution). You will only notice at slow speeds when at full lock. It sometimes takes more than one stop lock a side to work! They are fitted to the steering rack under a rubber boot. Racing Green and others stock them.

Funny, I dug out an old Cerb sales brochure the other day and it stated the original front tyre for the 4.5 was actually 235?

235/40 R17 with the original RL7s fitted Fubes - like I have on mine.

i have 235/18's on the front on mine, did have 225, but the 235's are better to be honest

Theres always 1 who has to confuse me eh!! lol
Why do you say they are better? More protection for the wheel? Not so stretched?
Did they fit no bother? or does the extra width cause problems?

Or you can run 225/40 up front Not an oem spec but it fits and may help prevent buckling.

There was a debate on this forum before- where I was consistently using the 225 on the front and came accross the debate, this time I tried the 235 & drives better to be honest although this could be the better tire. Just to mess with your boggle some more!
