Aaaahhh. Just spent 3 hours getting my clutch master out of the cerb and refitting new one, but the thread on the outlet pipe to the slave is different...! Anyone else found this? What is the solution? Just about to get the car flat-bedded to the dealer to sort it.

Frustrated...

The TVR cylinder is TVR specific with a TVR specific thread.

You need to either get the right cylinder or replace the fitting (pipe) that goes to the clutch outlet at the bottom of the footwell.

If you change the pipe, worth getting a flexi one as it makes life so much easier.

Having the choice of available thread types from UNC/UNF/Metric/BSF/BSP etc etc I can hardly see TVR inventing a new thread. Ask the garage what thread it is and post the answer on here, it may help us in the future.

That is not what I meant. I meant that the thread and fitting used was different to that normally used with these cylinders.
TVR normally used a bigger bore so if the replacement is smaller then it is the wrong cylinder.

If the replacement bore is bigger then, someone has used the "standard" type cylinder previously and replaced the pipe.

Thanks all. Having spoken to a few others I think it's exactly that - the fitting has a bigger bore and therefore won't fit into the cylinder which indicates a non-standard cylinder having been used in the past. Don't fancy changing the pipe myself so it's off to Castles today hopefully for a flexi pipe. Julesy
