spare wheel?

Been thinking, i would trust a spacesaver type spare wheel more than a can of foam crud. Anybody carrying one? If so what did you get, and what car did it come off? Thanks guys, steve

Most Jap ones will fit.

I still had an R-34 Skyline when I bought the Cerb and it's one had the same bolt pattern.

It would have needed a very small bit if machining to get the hole in the centre enlarged slightly to be a perfect fit.

Go along to a Jap breakers in your Cerb and see what they have that'll fit.

Why bother? I doubt you will ever need it. Also you will need to tell your insurance co as it's a mod. Use it and you risk being uninsured?

Plus you can't use it on the rear (because of the LSD). If you got a rear blow out you'd have to take a front off, put the front on the rear then the space saver on the front.

Just don't feel like sitting in a lane, in deepest, darkest Wales, for hours waiting for a lost breakdown wagon, when I could have been on the move, limping home is better than festering! Will have to take the try some and see option. Thanks for your thoughts guys.

Wow! Interesting that the alloy has deformed and not just cracked off. I guess chocolate is a good description!

Looks like the hole was hit at speed (40+?), good job the incident wasn't more serious.

I know this has been mentioned before, but what do you propose to do with the wheel you take off if you have a passenger?

There is a crack across the back of the bend, about 3 inches long, and it goes all the way through!
Drove the 48 miles home at a very sedate 50 MPH.

Hi, I suppose I'd put it in the boot, where the spare is going to sit.
