Have had Trev not since October and enjoyed every minute of him, I was really looking towards the summer months and getting out for some posing in the summer days. Only trouble is that I went to a property auction yesterday and didnt realise the amount of potential wonga to be made. Now I'm really excited about getting right into it. Only problem is that you have to have some major deposit wonga available at short notice. No matter what way i look at this the grass is always greener if I sell trev i'll be pissed off, if i keep him I'll kick myslef for not being able to pursue large wonga possibilities. HELP!

I dont want to get into remortgaging houses and all that jazz and next to selling a kidney i've only got trev which is paid off. I remember kstead had a similar decision to make last year. anyone know what he did? Or anyone got any hairbrain ideas about how i can get my hands on 10-15K??? Got to be legal!

I'd still have to have a decent car so would go back to an M3EVO maybe S reg or something, any other ideas???

I know you dont want to, but remortgage the house.

It'd roughly be just over £100 per month for 10k, over 10 years, on a repayment basis. If you're not 'tied' in on your current mortgage, then you might be better off remortgaging anyway..even if you dont borrow more.

Hi Jamster

My brother bought Keith's car last year, with gentleman's agreement that after 6 months or so, he'd offer it back to him first (which I've just done, as Simon lives in HK and doesn't get back here enough to justify keeping it - shame, seeing as at the moment I have to take it out for a good run every other week, oh the chore!!)

It'll be up here for sale in a few days if Keith doesn't want to exercise his option to buy it back.

cheers

Ah haa! i like the sound of that. Only problem is that youd have to be damn sure the person that bought it didnt rip the ass of it and looked after it properly etc and would actually sell you it back. Good idea, will bear it in mind. cheers!

Jamster,

why dont you just get a loan? The rates are still very favourable at the moment. I would try anything before having to give up the Tiv

It's a bit risky getting a loan as i'd have to sink all the cash into deposits for propertys/legal fees etc etc and wouldnt see it again for god knows how long. BEsdies the credit card is sitting a wee bitty higher than it should be . Interest free though so am not relly to bothered about that. Dont want to be in the situation where I've got extra loan and mortgage payments which I cant cover with my salary if things didnt go to plan. The other thing of course is that if a good few oppertunites come my way i'd like to be in a position to go for all of them on another interest free credit card!/loan if it was business sense and not be annoyed at myself for having a large capital depreciating asset controlling my life, (if you know what i mean). trouble is of course that summers comin and I've never seen the summer in a TVR. This'll be my first!

We'll see what happens, I'm in no rush at the mo. I might put trev up for sale and see what happens, if he sells then fair enough, if not then it's fate(even though I dont believe in it) and I'll keep him!

Lifes always about compromise ay! It shouldnt be that way, mind u, then it'd be too easy though!

Cheers,

Jamster

Don't forget that a lot of pups get sold at house auctions as well, mainly as they'd never sell through normal channels. This is something I'm going to be looking into once our main house move is out of the way, so all I can say is tread carefully.

Good luck.

There is no option but to sell the TVR even if the summer is coming. You should get the price (whatever) plus save another £3000 per year 'ruining costs'. All this can not happen by the loan alone as the TVR shall eat it too. It is a sad juncture in your driving life!

There are a finite number of days of your life left.

Each one of those days that is embellished with TVR ownership, driving or experiences is a day spent well.

Each day spent earning money is a day less to enjoy any money you earn or already have.

You have already spent many days earning the money to pay for the TVR, but by selling the TVR you will have wasted those days and further failed to reap the rewards of the hard work involved by spending days with the TVR.
