6x9 and other questions

Hi chaps

I have had a search but couldn't find the answer to my questions....

1). How is the standard 6x9 with door tweeters wired up on the standard (early) Cerb's? Does the factory head unit wire to the 6x9 and tweeters at the same time? (ie front left and right outputs on the amp runs all three).
2). Does anyone know what depth of 6.5" door speakers fit without too much hassle? I don't mind fitting a spacer ring but would prefer not too.

I'm not sure how the originals were wired up. But I have a standard JVC head unit going into an MB Quartz crossover which then goes to the tweeters.
On the speaker depth, I'm pretty certain you will need a spacer ring, my MQ Quartz's needed one.
