Help req'd Derby area

Can anybody help me please!? Drivers side window will not open still - either from outside or inside! Looked and tried bits, but still won't work!! Thanks.

Are you going to be forced to use the emergency handle and risk damaging the windscreen 'carbon' surround? Then take door apart and check wiring to the motor etc?

No. The door opens etc, but not the window!! Looked at the motor and looks ok!?

It's either electrical or mechanical (the regulator).
Check that power is getting to the two wires that supply the regulator motor.
If you have power, then it's probably the regulator - Less likely than an electrical problem.
If no power then check all the electrical door connectors, and trace back to the switch.

If you own a Cerbera you are going to have to start learning!

It's dead easy, go to Halfords and buy a simple 12v circuit tester for a couple of quid. It's like an electrical screwdriver with a cable attached with a crocodile clip on the end.
Take off the door panel (you need an Allen Key set) disconnect the little plug on the window wiper motor, crocodile clip to earth and touch the cable with the tester - if a bulb lights you have power.
No power? Disconnect the multi pin connector plug, I bet it's all corroded - clean it with an old toothbrush and WD40, and I bet you fix it!

Go on...You can do it - You have to learn

Spend a tenner and 30 minutes and get a multimeter and learn how to use it. They really are very simple things and are invaluable in tracking down electrical gremlins (of which you can get many on the Cerb). Not only will it tell you if you are/aren't get power to places, but it can also tell you resistance (which can point to corroded connectors/bad earths), and how much power is getting to components.
