Just a bit of advise if anyone can help. I took the drive shafts off the car at the weekend to replace the rubber CV boots. No big problem and all went Ok. The question is does anyone know what torque the 6 Hex heads on each end should be? There seemed to be no Loctight on the threads when I took them out so I put them back without. Does anyone know if some kind of locking agent is required?

I replaced all my cv joints n boots last week and scanned through my Cerb manual and couldn't locate any figures (although legibility in parts of my manual are a bit sh!t so it's probably in there somewhere). I went on the hunt for decent info on this on t'interweb and all guides I found recommended a spot of loctite on the bolt, however torque settings ranged from 35 - 70 ft/lb so I went for 55 and have just done a 1600 mile circuit of France over the weekend and they're still tight as a Nun's. I did check them after the first bit of vigorous exercise to be sure and again after about 500 miles and all was sweet.
