My late RR cerb was ordered with the factory fit aircon deleted - to save on weight and keep the power up I guess!?
Anyway I am on the look out for parts to see if I can retro fit it....
Anyone got a matrix, pump, pipes etc....?

No idea about retro fitting I'm afraid, but I'm sure I noticed a few air-con parts (condensor/matrix etc) on eBay earlier. Also I think there are equivalent parts in the sticky thread.

Hope that helps!

Yeah I have seen the matrix on ebay £96 new. Not looked on equivelant parts thread... I am hoping there are a few spare engines lurking in garages or racers who have the parts lying around...?!

I considered this a while back, but I think a major problem is that non-aircon cerbs don't have the doofer at the front of the engine that drives the compressor. So I guess an engine out and rebuild job to fit. Even when my engine was being rebuilt by Andy I dismissed it as too much hassle and cost, therefore kept the car a as the faster lighter wheight version!

You need to have the facility to fit a pully on the end of the crankshaft. Without the correct crankshaft you are stuck.

To retro fit would be a lot of work and not worth it. I am in the trade and would not do this to any of my cars due to this.

If one does have the pully bit on the end of the crankshaft then is it still not worth it? Parts are not that expensive if you shop around, fitting isnt too hard as the wiring is already in place...?

My old Cerb 4.2 had the pully etc. and so I was considering it,but you will need to install an evaporator into the heater matrix. This put me off somewhat due to the time. But as you say if you have the pully facility then the rest maybe you could get from a breakers yard.

Is there not a more generic modern system that can be fitted? The Cerb system is hardly going to be leading egde, there might be something you can do which costs less and is better...

Unless the pully is different to the Tuscan can't see how it can fit.
Maybe you remove that bolt?

Gary, main problem is getting the pulley on. Apparently you need to remove the engine to do it due to not enough clearance between the engine and the cross brace on the chassis. There are others that believe that this is not required though.

Easiest way would be to get all of the relevant parts from a breakers. I'd guess the wiring is there as I cannot see TVR deleting that individually.

You can remove the pulley with the engine in situ by just removing the 4 allen bolts. However, I'm fairly sure you can't remove (or insert) the collar that the pulley bolts to as this is quite long and goes right through the timing chain cover.

Your only hope is that TVR fitted the same collar to the non A/C cars - however, it doesn't look hopeful looking at the photo you have posted. Have you got a close up one of the front of the crank?

Ok not looking hopeful. Only just had engine put back in to car! It isn't a big deal, car is decatted, with windows open and cold blower on it was ok even in this weekends 30+ heat.
