Throttle pot balancing...

Chaps i need to ask a HUGE favor. Has anybody got the program and connection cable to connect to the Cerb that i could use to balance the throttle pots (and do a general system check) ASAP !! Ideally tomorrow (Sat) but could make it Sunday instead. I am in Central London.

What type of connector is at the Ecu?

Morning John You could ask Keith Wilson - he is out at South Mimms - he won't want you to take it away, but you may be able to nip out there and do what you need to do..... Might be worth a go?

Not too sure to be honest. I'm off over the garage now so hopefully i can let you know in a bit.

I have a cable for the newer 3 pin type and software on a working laptop in Camberley if that helps.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just back from the garage now and didn't quite get to the stage of starting it today - tomorrow for sure! As for the plug, I've spoken to NickCCC on the phone today and it conspires that i have the `Atari` style fitting of 5 female across the top and 4 female across the bottom. Will see how i get on to morrow and let you know.

Standard serial cable will do then, male to female. Available from any pc store, maplins etc

John I have one and the software and lead but was waiting Paul to give me a shout to bring it over!
Its not a standard 9pin lead but it is easy to modify a standard one to fit thats what I did.

so to balance pots how do i do this i got a usb cabled one do i open ecu up plug in turn on ignition then try to start it or what

I think your best bet is to look at the engine in the manual see the link. which explains it very well. http://www.thetvrsite.com/cerbera/workshop-manuals

You need ecu lead, serial to usb adapter, software to start.

You also need an airflow meter, there is no point adjusting the throttle pots unless both banks are flowing the same.
