No, always give a car time to warm up, had a few problems over the last few weeks with oil pressure, thought we had solved it last week, obviously not.

That sounds VERY similar to what happened to me 2 weeks ago now - apart from the overtake maneuver. I was doing around 60 in 3rd and it just went with an almighty bang. My car is now sorted (almost) but have since located another 4.2. PM me your number Terry and we'll go from there sir.
