My father during the war bought three bicycles with engines on. They were never used, I think they were called cycle masters. He bought them because they increased his petrol ration. Each bike had a numberplate.
TVR 1
TVR 6
WEN 1
I still have the brown logbooks somewhere and tried to ressurect them through the DVLA. DVLA got initially very panicked about this as they had assumed they were dead and had sold them for a fortune.
My father got an appology letter and everything, right up until some bright spark at the DVLA suggested that the plates could not be transfered on to a 'saved' plate unless they came from a mot'able vehicle.
The funny thing was that 'cyclemasters', although they had number plates were actually no more than a small petrol motor that fixed onto a wheeel of your bike. We thought seriously about forging an ex model aeroplane engine and sticking it in a box for the local inspection station to MOT!
Shame really cos I think those three number plates would have bought the TVR in this day and age.

You seem to be spending more & more time on the Cerb forum, Al... your mate's car convincing you you need to change to something with room for the little 'un?
you mean the one he has had for three weeks and is now in Shane's workshop in bits waiting for a pair of new cams?burriana500 said:

That's the one! Hope he's managing to get it sorted for less than the couple of £k you said - it's common knowledge all Cerbera bills are £1k. Although, if it's a pair of cams...

Nice one JS. Saw this the other day. Thought it would have gone for a little more.
I saw that other plate (T111VRR) on EBay, and thought I'd do a bit of digging around to see what it's value was... which is when I found mine still available from the DVLA. I somehow don't think he'll be selling that for £250 - I know I'd have expected to pay at least double that for it.
Whilst looking it up, I also found:
T1 VVV for £2k
T77 VVV / T10 VVV / T6 VVV for £250
V20 TVR / TVR 789X for £1k
Oh, and B16 TVR for £11k and TVR 4 for £18k
