Need a new engine

A big thank you go to Tony (Only Me) and Paul (Noisy) for getting my engine out today (7 hours).
No 1 cyliners has dropped a valve through the piston, so the search starts for an engine.
We will be taking the head off tomorrow but 99% sure it will be beyond repair.
So pleased I was not planning to take it to Le Mans.

That's 4 engines changes in the past few weeks, Starting to get the hang of it now, that 7 hours did include stripping most all of the old engine too terry, Tony did a lot too, think you should be nice to him as well from now on!

The head came off today - no pictures as yet will try to get some later when I find my camera. Going to speak to a few people over the next week or so to see if it can be rebuilt.
I have sort of decided to take the car of the road for a while tidy up the chassis, outriggers etc.. as I probably won't bother once the engine is back be to busy driving it. I might even sell it as a project for someone.
Thanks to everyone for the offers of help, and Paul and Tony for the many hours of hard graft.

?Looks like the engine will need a liner, piston and head, its possible it could be saved so just a case of weighing up costs of repairing vs buying a complete running engine.
Julian, the MX5 has actually blown up, probably due to the little hair-dryer fitted under the bonnet, wanted to come use your camber gauge at some stage if possible

Would love to rebuild it myself but my technical knowledge is quite limited, will be having a chat with the usual suspects over the next couple of weeks, will probably have to wait until the autumn tho' as funds are limited at the moment.
