New Cigarette Lighter Assembly?

I need to replace my ciggy lighter assembly as it seems there is a bit missing. Do I really have to spend £20 for a 'TVR' one or would the one below suffice? Cheers! Dom

I don't know about the whole unit, but a couple of years ago several of us purchased cheap (Chinese?) TVR emblazoned cigarette lighters (just the bit you push in) off eBay and they caused no end of electrical woes (blew 4 or 5 of the fuses).

Having said that, I cant see why a standard unit (from a reputable motor factors) wouldn't be OK?

Halfords do sell one too which I thought may have gone through slightly more quality checking, maybe I'll give that a go. Does the standard one have a locking ring though, as the universal ones seem to just be a push fit?

Mine had come apart behind the dash, I found the 'missing' bit there, and put it back together. So have a fish around (carefully) and you may find it

pease be careful when fishing behind dash. i wasnt so, ended up disconnecting a wire from the master ignition and was stranded at my bros house, eventually got it all soldered back together. cig lighter still not working.....
